Postdoc in Circular Urban Food Systems&Department of Ecological Tech

Job description

Our company is hunting for a bright and impressive postdoc researcher in neuro-scientific metropolitan food & biomass systems during the Department of ecological tech ( Pursuit will give attention to design of circular supply chains for meals & bio-based items close to urban centers. This is carried out by linking predefined product functionality and matching quality demands to locally available food and biomass resources (including locally produced, utilized, recovered, etc.). a design that is new has got to be developed to calculate the results of including regional resources to present food and biomass supply string also to evaluate the effect regarding the needed quality criteria and connect this to possible channels of regional resources. Moreover, the device aims to include brand brand new and current (bio)technologies that free the desired components or constituents through the resource that is local to produce an extensive spectrum of circular design choices.

Consequently, the task is designed to produce an instrument to guide circularity-based design of urban meals and biomass movement characteristics by determining the functionality for the services and products, deriving the quality that is corresponding when it comes to functionality and inventorying neighborhood, metropolitan resource channels that fulfil the product quality and functionality of neighborhood, urban needs. You certainly will build this understanding and model-based approach making use of studies, simulations and situations in Amsterdam. The expected deliverables after a couple of years include ( not restricted to):

  • A overview/review that is scientific on advanced of circular meals and biomass system
  • A model associated with tool + an instrument description/manual
  • A paper that is scientific the growth and initial application of these device

You are getting together with a few on-going PhDs focusing on metropolitan system modelling and different meals and biomass processing/quality/technology specialists at Agrotechnology & Food Science Group (AFSG) of Wageningen University & analysis (WUR). (more…)
